Volunteering

Hull Churches Home from Hospital is a volunteer-led organisation and is dependent on the generosity and goodwill of members of the community in giving of their time for free to help others.

We are always looking for new volunteers to meet growing demand. We need people to help with all aspects of the organisation, so there is something for everyone to do. Our volunteers are highly valued, and all are welcome to apply to join us, regardless of gender, race, religion, ability or health. Volunteers must be over 18, but there is no upper age limit.

We provide comprehensive training and support to prepare and develop volunteers for the various roles. All volunteers who visit clients are fully police-checked (to DBS Enhanced level) and carefully selected and trained in a wide range of issues to enable them to provide high quality support.

Training includes:

  • Befriending
  • First Aid
  • Health and Safety
  • Confidentiality
